About Us

What we do?

The Armenia Project (TAP) is an educational non-profit that promotes the democratic and economic development of Armenia by advancing the country’s communications ecosystem to more effectively share its real story with the international community.

The idea behind TAP was incubated shortly after the 2020 war by the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation and the Tufenkian Foundation, collaborating with a small team of global communications professionals working together as volunteers. TAP was officially established in 2023 as an initiative of the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation and continues to partner with the Tufenkian Foundation on related projects.

Our Core Areas of Focus

  • Impactful storytelling about Armenia's geopolitical realities, its growing economy, culture and tourism

  • Facilitating media travel from across the globe to see, experience and report on Armenia first-hand

  • Investing in young journalists and media professionals, both in-country and from abroad

How We Work

Through strategic programs and diverse partnerships, TAP raises global awareness about Armenia and the region. By leveraging its professional communications team on the ground and its global network, TAP offers workshops, training programs and informative events. The key to TAP’s impact is the working relationships its team has built with academic institutions, media organizations and NGOs that are committed to building out and supporting Armenia’s communications ecosystem.
