Enhance Your Storytelling Skills for an International Audience


Are you a final-year journalism student or a young journalist eager to sharpen your storytelling abilities and make a mark on the global stage? The Armenia Project (TAP) invites you to participate in an immersive three-day journalism workshop designed to equip you with the tools and expertise needed to excel in today's dynamic media landscape. Spaces are limited and will be based on merit. 

 What You'll Gain:

Comprehensive training sessions led by experienced mentors, covering topics such as:

  • Basics of Journalism: Informing yourself, informing others

  • Ethics and quality standards in journalism

  • Exploring different storytelling formats: text, photo, audio, video, multimedia

  • Pitching your stories to a global news platform

  • Personal branding and skill development

  • Strategies for reaching out to editors, finding work, and applying for grants

  • Protecting yourself and your sources in various environments

How to Apply:

To apply, please send an email to tap@armeniaproject.org and include the following:

  • A pitch (250-450 words) detailing:

    • Your story idea, angel, and three potential sources you would use for your piece (can be people, documents, or other resources). Please note that the last day of the workshop will be spent in the Armavir region, and your story idea should be related to this part of Armenia.

    • Preferred storytelling format (photo, video, text, multimedia)

  • A cover letter introducing yourself, sharing any relevant experience, and expressing your interest and motivation to participate. Please also include your contact information.

Application deadline: April 15, 2024, 5:00 pm

🗓 Workshop Schedule:

April 18-20, 2024

Day 1: Foundation sessions and pitch development (half-day)

Day 2: Skill enhancement and pre-field exercise (half-day)

Day 3: Practical exercise in a region, group presentations, and debrief (full day)

Location:

The classes are to be held in Yerevan. Field exercise on the 3rd day will be conducted in the Armavir region.

Post-Workshop Opportunities:
